(2nd Regiment Tennessee Heavy Artillery, African Descent, redesignated, 3rd U.S. Colored Field Artillery (Heavy),
final designation, 4th U.S.C.F.A.(H))
- June, 1863, the 4th U.S.C.F.A.(H) is formed at Columbus, Kentucky.
- June 1863 - March 11, 1864, the 4th U.S.C.F.A.(H) serving at Union City, Tennessee and Columbus, Kentucky.
- March 11, 1864 - April 26, 1864, designation changed to 3rd U.S.C.F.A.(H).
- April 26, 1864, redesignated 4th U.S.C.F.A.(H).
- April 26, 1864 - June 1865, the 4th U.S.C.F.A.(H) operating from Fort Halleck, Columbus, Kentucky.
- September 2, 1864, engaged in skirmish at Union City, Tennessee.
- October 11, 1864, engaged in battle at Fort Donelson, Tennessee.
- June 1865 - February 25, 1866, the 4th U.S.C.F.A.(H) operating from Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
- February 25, 1866, the 4th U.S.C.F.A.(H) is mustered out of the service.
8TH U.S. COLORED FIELD ARTILLERY (HEAVY) REGIMENT
(1st Regiment Kentucky Heavy Artillery, African Descent, redesignated, 7th U.S. Colored Field Artillery (Heavy),
final designation, 8th U.S.C.F.A.(H)
- April 26, 1864, the 8th U.S.C.F.A.(H) is formed at Paducah, Kentucky.
- April 26 1864 - February 10, 1866, the 8th U.S.C.F.A.(H) is operating from Paducah, Kentucky.
- July 26-27 1864, the 8th U.S.C.F.A.(H) participates in an expedition from Paducah, Kentucky to Haddix's
Ferry, Kentucky.
- August 27, 1864, the 8th U.S.C.F.A.(H) is engaged in a skirmish near Haddix's Ferry, Kentucky.
- February 10, 1866, the 8th U.S.C.F.A.(H) is mustered out of the Army.
12TH U.S. COLORED FIELD ARTILLERY (HEAVY) REGIMENT
- July 15, 1864, the 12th U.S.C.F.A.(H) is organized at Camp Nelson, Kentucky.
- July 15, 1864 - April 24, 1866, the 12th U.S.C.F.A.(H) is operating at Bowling Green, Camp Nelson, Kentucky;
and other points in the District of Kentucky.
- April 24, 1866, the 12th U.S.C.F.A.(H) is mustered out of the Army.
